November Currently & A Road Trip Through PA

November is here! I've been trying hard to enjoy the beautiful displays of fall that are all around me! Luckily, I've been provided with lots of opportunities, as of late, to take in all that fall has to offer.

Check out some shots from my trip through Pennsylvania last week:

So beautiful! My iPhone photo doesn't do it justice!

Yellow bright!

Beautiful tree at the Flight 93 Memorial.
By taking "the road less traveled", we happened upon some breathtaking scenic views, a quick jaunt through Maryland, the Flight 93 National Memorial, and a fun restaurant & artisan center. I love that my husband, like me, likes the adventure of a road trip. Being his co-pilot (well, maybe more like backseat driver) is fun!

The ushering-in of November also means it's time for Farley's Currently! I've been MIA from the Currently scene for the last couple of months. It feels good to be back!

Listening: Browns fans are happy tonight! I caught the tail-end of that game and am now listening to a show about PIE! It's making me super-hungry. Must.Change.Channel.

Loving: It's the time of year when mornings mean cold hardwood floors. My trusty pink slippers, old as they may be, are perfectly fitted to my feet and shuffle along with me as I make coffee, let the dog out, and get ready for school. They're a sure-sign of fall!

Thinking: I'm gearing up for another busy week (truth: EVERY week is a busy one as a teacher) and making a to-do list helps me feel organized & helps me prioritize. My plans for tomorrow include heading in early to make copies, pull guided reading books, and organize centers...hopefully I can do all of that before 8:55!

Wanting: My first formal OTES evaluation is this week. Ohio teachers know the nervousness I'm feeling about our new evaluation system. I'm confident that my lesson is solid, but as every teacher knows, crazy things can happen when you're being evaluated! I'm trying to remember to just BE MYSELF. After all, that's the "Mrs.Colon" my kids get every other day of the year.
That said, any good thoughts coming my way are certainly appreciated!

Needing: Since daylight saving time is in effect (or is it over? I'm not sure.) it's going to be getting darker earlier. I'm committing to head outside when its nice to ENJOY the November sunshine. Vitamin D, baby!

A yummy pin. Oh my goodness. For real. These baby cinnamon buns made with crescent roll dough are incredible!

I've made them 3 or 4 times since discovering this recipe & there's no end in sight. The sugary butter "sauce" is the stuff dreams are made of. I'd imagine you could tweak it with some vanilla, a little orange juice, or some maple syrup. YUM. Do yourself a favor. Check this recipe out. So good!

How are you celebrating November?

  1. I discovered your blog from the Currently link up. Good luck on your evaluation this week, I'm sure you'll do great. I remember being really nervous for my first evaluation. Turns out, I really didn't need to be. Just do the same terrific things you do each day, and you'll be fine.

    1. Thanks, Molly! Your sweet words mean a lot!

  2. I'm visiting from the Currently:)
Your cinnamon rolls look delicious and would be a fun weekend baking treat to make with my twins! They might love sugar just a tiny bit, so this is right up our alley! Good luck on your evaluation! I'm sure you will do great!
